A New Way to Stay Near the Grand Canyon
The Outpost Grand Canyon was created for travelers who want more than a place to sleep — they want a stay that feels connected to the wonder, stillness, and scale of the canyon itself.
Built for the Journey, Not Just the Overnight
The Outpost was built on a simple belief: a trip to the Grand Canyon deserves a lodging experience as unique and restorative as the landscape itself.
For years, travelers have come from around the world to witness one of Earth’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders. But after the sun sets and the canyon day ends, many visitors return to accommodations that feel ordinary — traditional hotels, motels, and places that offer a bed, but not much of a memory.
The Outpost was created to change that. Located just 25 minutes from the Grand Canyon South Rim entrance, the property offers a more meaningful way to stay: thoughtfully renovated Airstreams, private hot tubs beneath the stars, and shared amenities designed for rest, recovery, and connection.
More Than a Bed for the Night
After seven years operating unique stay rentals in Northern Arizona, General Manager Chris Martin noticed a clear gap in the lodging experience near the Grand Canyon. While the destination itself was extraordinary, most nearby accommodations followed the same familiar formula.
Chris envisioned something different: a place that could enhance the journey instead of simply hosting the night. A place where guests could return after a long drive, a full day of hiking, or a sunrise at the canyon and feel genuinely restored.
That vision became The Outpost Grand Canyon — an elevated desert basecamp designed to make the stay feel just as memorable as the destination.

Thoughtfully Designed Airstream Stays
The Outpost features fourteen renovated Airstream units, each independently designed and thoughtfully decorated to feel distinctive, comfortable, and full of character. No two stays feel exactly alike, giving guests a lodging experience that feels personal rather than predictable.
But the true hallmark of The Outpost is found just outside each unit: a private hot tub. After a day spent exploring the Grand Canyon, guests can soak beneath the wide Arizona sky, surrounded by fresh air, quiet desert nights, and stars untouched by city lights.
For many guests, that moment becomes one of the most memorable parts of their trip.

Meet Chris Martin, General Manager
For General Manager Chris Martin, The Outpost is more than a property — it is the natural extension of years spent creating memorable stays across Northern Arizona.
What fuels Chris’ passion is not just the design of the Airstreams or the uniqueness of the concept. It is the guest reaction: the audible excitement when someone steps outside and sees a sky full of stars, the quiet calm that settles in after a soak in the hot tub, and the realization that their lodging has become part of the adventure itself.
Chris believes hospitality should do more than check guests in and send them on their way. At its best, it should create moments people remember long after the trip is over. The Outpost was built around that belief.

Rooted in Northern Arizona
Beyond the guest experience, The Outpost plays an important role in the Northern Arizona community. While many outdoor lodging and glamping properties close during the winter months, The Outpost remains open year-round.
That year-round operation helps support local jobs, contributes to regional tax revenue, and gives travelers consistent access to lodging near the Grand Canyon in every season.
The Outpost is not just a place to pass through. It is part of a larger effort to create thoughtful, sustainable, and experience-driven hospitality in Northern Arizona.
